Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team, working on Waste Heat Recovery systems typically sited on the back of gas turbines, including boilers, steam turbines, pressure vessels, and process piping. This is a client-facing role where you will oversee projects from initial design through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing activities throughout project lifecycle
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams
• Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
• Specify and procure equipment packages, ensuring successful integration into full steam cycle power plants
• Work with process engineers to prepare equipment datasheets for procurement
• Attend and contribute to HAZID and HAZOP meetings
• Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and monitor expenses
• Manage specialist engineering contracts (e.g., pressure vessel calculations, structural calculations, noise studies, flow modelling)
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and industry best practices
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, materials, and services
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide progress updates to stakeholders

Skills & Experience

• Practical experience with steam raising or process plant systems
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balances
• Experience preparing equipment datasheets and procuring balance-of-plant equipment (pumps, valves, pressure vessels)
• Hands-on experience managing installation of boilers, steam turbines, process piping, water treatment, and heat exchangers
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles
• Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery in Oil & Gas advantageous, but not mandatory
• Familiarity with ASME, BS 5500, API560, NORSOK codes advantageous
• Understanding of hydraulics and electrical control systems advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or
• HNC/ONC or similar with extensive relevant experience
