We would like to appoint a locum (10PA) Consultant Radiologist (9 DCC / 1 SPA) with subspecialist Neuroradiology experience. The post holder will be involved in the full range of neuroradiology imaging, including MRI brain, spine and neurovascular reporting for both acute and outpatient settings. Specialised reporting and MDM commitments might be required depending on the applicant skill set and service need.

As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.

We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and collegiate atmosphere, and where needed we will support the appointee in any areas needed to further develop skills and experience. There is also the opportunity for Home Reporting sessions.

The site of St Thomas’ hospital is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital providing local and subspecialist paediatric services. As part of this neuroradiology consultant position candidates may be required to report paediatric neuroradiology studies. It is therefore a desirable criteria that candidates have some prior paediatric neuroradiology experience, though not essential. Knowledge and experience can be built upon within the role and appointed consultants supported in the further development of these skills.
