About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Lead to shape, build and maintain modern, effective, and scalable AWS cloud environment to support the data architecture underpinning high-quality insight across our organisation.
The Technical Leads are specialist subject matter experts who have responsibility for specified sets of the technical components and products that underpin all of Technology’s Services.
Working with Technology Product Owners and Enterprise Architects, the Technical lead will supervise, direct, mentor and coach teams of technicians at various levels to ensure the continued availability and correct performance of the critical technical components within their portfolio.
What You’ll Do
The role includes an element of line management, and the successful candidate will be expected to coach and mentor junior members of staff as well as providing 3rd line support.
Working closely with the Technology Group Managers and Enterprise Architect your ideas and vision can help shape the direction in which we continue to develop the delivery of technical solutions within North Yorkshire Council.
Faced with rapid changes in technology the Technical Lead will continually update their skills and knowledge in order to review their portfolio of specialist technologies and keep them up to date, secure and available.
Your day to day tasks will include-
Establish and implement technical best practice and standards for managed systems.
Be proactive in identifying service improvement initiatives to increase service user productivity and customer satisfaction.
Be a point of technical escalation assisting Senior Technical Analysts and Technical Analysts.
Define monitoring and maintenance procedures for operational performance levels for all systems managed.
Raise system upgrade project or requests as required.
What you can Bring
Specific vendor experience in the technology platforms we support would be beneficial
Previous experience leading a specialist team, ensuring the continued availability and performance of key products and components
The ability to research and develop in line with emerging technologies as well as plan and implement new and changed products
As subject matter expert, you will contribute and maintain Technical Architecture standards
Good understanding of IT industry best practises and procedures
Significant Experience of ICT incident and request resolution, change and problem management.
Technical training qualification – MCP, CNA or manufacturers accreditation
ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
Ability to negotiate and manage Operational Level Agreements, working closely with colleagues both internal and external
