Summary
Neway International are seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join our client based with Wirral MBC.
Location: 2 Alice Square, Birkenhead, Merseyside, CH41 2YA
Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: 23/02/2026
Pay Rate: £26.38 PAYE per hour / £33.97 Umbrella per hour
Work Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote

The Role
An experienced Adults Social Worker is required to provide cover for a vacant post within Adult Care and Health. The postholder will manage a varied caseload, undertake assessments, support care planning and contribute to safeguarding processes. This role requires strong professional judgement, confident decision‑making and the ability to work effectively within a busy statutory service.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act assessments and reviews in line with statutory requirements.
Manage a caseload of adults with a range of needs, promoting independence and wellbeing.
Contribute to safeguarding enquiries and multi‑agency planning.
Develop and review care and support plans, ensuring outcomes are person‑centred and proportionate.
Work collaboratively with health partners, providers, families and voluntary sector organisations.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation.
Apply relevant legislation, policy and guidance confidently and consistently.
Participate in team meetings, supervision and service development activity.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Experience in statutory adults social care, including safeguarding and Care Act work.
Strong assessment, planning and risk‑management skills.
Excellent communication and report‑writing ability.
Ability to work flexibly across office and remote settings.
Full compliance documentation required.
