The Role
A Multiskilled Engineer with a plumbing bias is required to provide vacancy cover while permanent recruitment is underway. The postholder will carry out a range of building repairs, planned preventative maintenance, statutory testing, renewals and installation works across Council‑owned properties. The role requires strong diagnostic ability, a flexible approach and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work at the first visit.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across plumbing‑based assets including TMVs, pumps and general water systems.
Carry out repairs, renewals and installation works in line with best trade practice and current regulations.
Diagnose building faults and compliance issues, determining effective solutions.
Use handheld technology (PDA) to manage and record work.
Provide excellent customer service to residents and service users.
Work flexibly and proactively to support service delivery across Council properties.
Candidate Requirements
Plumbing‑biased multiskilled engineer with proven experience.
DBS required; experience in social housing (domestic) preferred.
Strong problem‑solving and maintenance skills.
Experience using handheld technology (PDA).
Full UK driving licence.
Flexible, proactive and customer‑focused.
