Summary


We have an exciting opportunity available for a Band 5, ER Advisor in the Employee Relations team. The postholder will provide professional ER advice and guidance to managers and lead on complex cases for their respective division, support on training as well as partner with the HR Business Partners to provide ER support. This is a opportunity for CIPD accredited HR professional. Appropriate training and support will be provided.

To support mangers with the handling of ER cases under the informal stages, or stage 1 and 2 of the formal stages of the Disciplinary, Performance and Managing Sickness Procedures. To provide ER support for managers in the handling of grievances under stage 1 and 2 of the procedure. The ER Adviser will assist with investigations, advise on the preparation of management cases and attend formal hearings to support managers presenting cases or hearing short term sickness cases. The postholder will provide advice on the application of People Management policies and procedures, and terms and conditions of employment.

To advise and assist managers on the interpretation and application of People Management policies and procedures ensuring a consistent and timely approach.

To actively advise, coach and assist managers in the application of the Trust’s ER policies and procedures e.g. Disciplinary, Grievance Resolution, Sickness Absence, Performance, Flexible Working, Dignity at Work, Maternity/Paternity/Adoption and Organisational Change. This will include supporting investigations, supporting managers attending hearings and appeals to present cases, supporting managers hearing short term sickness cases and providing advice on the written confirmation of outcome in cases managed informally.

To ensure all ER casework is logged and tracked on the ER Tracker, and to act as Systems Administrator for ER Tracker, producing reports when required to help monitor ER casework progress in line with HROD KPI’s/SLA’s.

To support managers to proactively manage sickness absence by reviewing monthly absence reports and identifying cases that have triggered and require appropriate action and interventions.

To provide professional guidance on employment related equality matters and to facilitate the implementation of the Trust’s EDI objectives and policies.
