Summary

We are looking for highly motivated and inspirational individual with a passion for supporting learners with specific learning differences, mental health difficulties, or disabilities? South Staffordshire College is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join our dynamic Learning Support department.
You will plan, develop and monitor strategies for our learners, that require additional support to achieve their career and learning goals. Also providing advice and guidance for our teachers to deliver inclusive lessons for individuals with additional support needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: • To work closely with academic teams to help Identify the additional support requirements of our learners through a robust assessment of their needs. • To provide advice on differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies for learners with additional support needs. • To promote and support learners to use assistive technology that enables them to work as independently as possible. • To support transition arrangements to facilitate progression from school to college. • To participate in activities that drive improvements in the quality and effectiveness of support for learners with specific learning differences. • To safeguard and ensure the wellbeing of learners, including taking responsibility for reporting child protection matters.
Required Skills and Experience: • Knowledge and experience of using supportive strategies to enable students with a specific learning difference in Further Education or a similar setting • Excellent verbal and written communication, organisation and interpersonal skills • Innovative, creative and flexible
