Job Title: HLTA Level D
Salary: Scale 5 points 12 -17, £28,598.00 - £31,022.00 pro rata is £22,812.49 - £24,746.26
Hours: 33.75 per week, term time plus 5 inset days (8.30 am to 3.45pm Monday to Friday (30 mins lunch)
Contract: Fixed term until 31/08/2026 re fluctuating pupil numbers. Possibility post will likely become permanent
Start date: 13/04/2026


We wish to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting Special Educational Needs in the nursery age range.

The main duties of this role will involve:

  • Supporting children in nursery as well as with their medical needs and social and emotional well-being.
  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs and SEND Support Plans with their learning and development.
  • Work under the guidance of teaching staff, Inclusion Manager and outside agencies in order to implement and evaluate agreed work programmes.


We are looking for someone who is flexible, committed and can show initiative. The successful candidates will be able to communicate effectively with teaching staff, the Inclusion Manager and work efficiently within the team. This is a hugely rewarding role for the right person and training can be given where needed.

The candidate should be able to offer:
Minimum of Level 3 child care qualifications or equivalent and have substantial experience of working within an Early Years setting.
Excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum with experience of planning, development, delivery and evaluation of effective Early Years Practice.

Ability to work in a team

Good interpersonal and communication skills

This is a physically demanding job that requires the post holder to work both indoors and outdoors. The work frequently involves working at low height or on the floor.
