About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Senior Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance Department. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering high‑quality invoice and expense processing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The successful candidate will also play a key part in supporting our planned programme of system and process enhancements, contributing to continuous improvement across the function.

Working closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, you will lead the department's reporting, creating and improving financial reports that help support accurate forecasting, strong controls, and informed decisions across the business.

This role is perfect for someone with a solid accounts payable background who thrives on improving processes and enjoys working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Manage allocated ledger accounts, resolve queries, process payments to agreed terms and carry out statement reconciliations.
  • Process employee expenses and purchase card transactions when required.
  • Support the Accounts Payable Manager with ad hoc duties as required.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting

  • Produce weekly reports for the business showing outstanding transactions.
  • Produce KPI reports on team performance monthly.
  • Provide support in the production of the monthly payment performance reports.
  • Carbon footprint reporting.

System Enhancements

  • Support in a programme of Coins ERP+ enhancements including but not limited to, expenses automation, purchase card automation, purchase to pay workflows and invoice matching via an AI programme.
  • Develop a reporting system following enhancements.

About you

  • The candidate will ideally have the following experience/skill set.

    • Previous accounts payable experience (use of Coins ERP+ system an advantage but not necessary)
    • Previous experience of processing expenses (automated system an advantage but not necessary)
    • Previous experience of implementing process changes
    • An analytical mindset and a confident user of excel (look ups and pivots)
    • Attention to detail with a proven record of meeting deadlines.
    • Strong Organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong service mindset
    • Maintains an adaptable outlook and consistently seeks continuous improvement through practical solutions.
    • Experience of working with project implementation teams.
    • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
