Are you an experienced Maintenance Operative looking for a long term opportunity? We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to carry out a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks across residential properties in the Stevenage area.This is a temp-to-perm role offering stability, a council van for daily use, and the chance to join a supportive and well established property services team.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering high‑quality maintenance work, including:
- Basic carpentry repairs (doors, skirting, frames, and general repairs)
- Tiling installation and repairs
- Shower maintenance and installation, including reseals and minor plumbing fixes
- General property repairs within occupied and void properties
- Completing job sheets and maintaining professional tenant interactions
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard
What We're Looking For
Experience in a maintenance or multi‑trade role
Competency in carpentry, tiling, and shower-related work
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Strong customer service skills
Desirable:
- Experience within social housing or local authority settings
- Relevant trade qualifications
