Position: Food Technology Technician

Pay Rate: £150 - £200 per day (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Thamesmead, Erith

As a Food Technology Technician, you will be the backbone of the department, working closely with teaching staff to prepare ingredients, maintain specialised equipment, and ensure every practical lesson is a success.

Requirements of this role:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Enhanced Child DBS on the update service.

  • Experience in a food preparation, laboratory, or school technician environment.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations (HACCP).

  • Ability to provide 2 professional references.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities as a Food Tech Technician:
  • Prepare and organise ingredients and equipment for daily practical lessons and exams.

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety within the food rooms, including deep cleaning and stock rotation.

  • Assist students and teachers during practical sessions, providing technical guidance where needed.

  • Manage department budgets, ordering supplies, and maintaining relationships with local suppliers.

  • Perform routine safety checks on kitchen appliances and specialised food technology machinery.
