Summary
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time Deputy Stage Manager to work on the reimagined One Part London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. After ten record-breaking years in the West End as a two-part theatrical event, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will evolve into its critically acclaimed, reimagined format, presented as a single performance this autumn.
Previous experience as a Deputy Stage Manager on a busy show is essential. Skills required include attention to detail, the ability to stay calm under pressure in a busy live production environment and good all-round technical skills.
Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Deputy Stage Manager on a first-class West End production and include (but will not be limited to) creation of the prompt book, calling the show, teaching the book and any changes to Book Covers, cueing lighting, sound and automation and deputising for the Stage Manager when they are unavailable (both managing the department and stepping into their on stage track).
We are committed to a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion. We particularly welcome and encourage applications from those currently underrepresented in our workforce.
Start Date: August 2026
Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract.
Job Location: West End London
Contract Type: A year-long contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.
Salary: Weekly buyout rate as per SOLT/Equity Agreement.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and understudy calls.
Application Deadline: Friday, 27th February at 6pm
