Summary


You will work with a team of skilled Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers supporting the delivery and development of medicines optimisation to achieve high quality, cost effective and evidence based prescribing, promoting the safe, effective and efficient
use of medicines across KCHFT specialist services and to develop and maintain an excellent and progressive pharmacy service in line with legislation, the NHS long term plan and to meet the needs of our patients.


You will be fully supported with your training and development and benefit from the wealth of training courses available to the Pharmacy team, including clinical, management, and leadership opportunities.

You will provide a comprehensive medicine management service to Specialist Services. This will include:
• Making judgments on how to manage workload
• Participate in the audit process with the specialist service sites, supporting the governance of medicines processes, policies and the learning from medicines incidents in order to maintain and continually improve standards of patient care.
• Support the process of PGD production and approval. Participate in the organisation of meetings, agendas, minutes and ensure documents are distributed in a timely manner. Provide professional knowledge and support to ensure legal requirements for PGDs within the Trust are met.
• Supporting services with the supply of medicines. Reviewing stock lists, looking for efficiencies, contributing to cost improvements and the efficient use of medicines including safe and secure storage
• Ensuring compliance with prescribing guidelines and with local formularies
• Acting as a witness to controlled drug destructions
• Ensuring medicines are being used in the most cost-effective way and compliance with legal frameworks, formularies and best practice.
• Support the Pharmacy Technician work for the Special Schools and ADHD service
• Deliver training packages and medicines information to a range of staff in a multi-agency arena across specialist services
• Contribute to writing SOPs and policies relating to area of practice
