Summary


Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for and enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join our Neurosciences, Trauma and Stroke team. You will support the Dietetics service for patients undergoing neurorehabilitation as part of the newly enhanced dietetic role within the Rapid access to Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR) service.

This post is dedicated to managing an in-patient caseload of undergoing neurorehabilitation across Charing Cross and St Mary's hospitals. This post offers the opportunity to work autonomously to develop this speciality role.

This role will also provide cover to the neurosciences and trauma wards which include a variety of patients including those under neurology, neurotrauma, neurosurgery and trauma services and will require thorough understanding of complex nutrition support requirements including enteral tube feeding.

• To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
• To provide comprehensive and specialist therapy assessment and diagnosis for patients with a range of highly complex presentations, by utilising advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-based knowledge, investigative and analytical skills and specialist assessment techniques.
• To work both independently and within a team structure, demonstrating leadership to manage own and team caseload. To efficiently manage a caseload and organise this effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
• To communicate with patients in a way that empowers them to make informed choices about the management of their condition and engages them in the planning and delivery of treatment.
• To take into account cultural, linguistic, medical, emotional, psychological and physical factors that may prevent this engagement and utilise resources available to facilitate communication.
• To use advanced communication skills to frequently manage and resolve difficult situations, at times involving aggressive or challenging behaviour from patients or carers.
