A charming and historic independent hotel in the heart of the highlands is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Hotel Manager to join our friendly team.
Located directly in the stunning Cairngorms National Park, this venue pride themselves on delivering genuine Scottish Highland hospitality. With a lively lounge bar featuring live entertainment, an excellent restaurant serving imaginative menus throughout the day, comfortable ensuite rooms, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects true Scottish traditions, they are a favourite with locals and visitors alike — year-round adventurers, skiers, walkers, families, and those enjoying our famous Highland welcome.
About the Role:
As Assistant Hotel Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth daily running of the property, and a motivated team environment. This is a hands-on leadership position in a busy, all-year-round resort hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in managing day-to-day hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and bar
-Deliver and maintain high standards of guest service and satisfaction
-Support staff supervision, training, rostering, and performance management
-Handle guest queries, feedback, and any issues with a positive, solution-focused approach
-Monitor health & safety, licensing, and compliance requirements
-Contribute to revenue generation through upselling, events, and seasonal promotions
-Deputise for the General Manager in their absence
What We're Looking For
-Previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel, hospitality, or licensed premises environment (essential)
-Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-A genuine passion for guest service and Highland hospitality
-Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and bank holiday
