Personal Assistant Required Folkestone (Direct Payments)
We are looking for a reliable and committed Personal Assistant to support our 11-year-old autistic son, Sebastian.
Sebastian is a lively and inquisitive boy who loves letters, numbers, Lego, dinosaurs, trains, Pixar films, Mario, building, and being outdoors. He is autistic (high-end moderate), with global developmental delay and severe speech delay. He communicates in his own way and has made significant strides in his behaviour over the past few years.
He requires constant supervision due to:
- High risk of elopement
- No danger awareness
- Occasional dysregulation and sensory overload
He benefits from encouragement to engage in structured activities, as he can otherwise prefer to do his own thing.
Priority Support Required:
- Thursday evenings during term time (Scouts at Holy Trinity Church, 7:008:30pm)
- Travel time must be factored in
- Approximately 1.52 hours of the weekly allocation would be used for Scouts
- Separate DBS clearance required for both Direct Payments and Scouts
Hours:
- 4 hours per week (term time)
- 8 hours per week (school holidays)
Additional hours are typically used during school holidays for:
- Free School Meals holiday clubs (1:1 support required)
- SEN holiday clubs
- Community access activities such as zoo visits (annual pass held), castle visits (heritage pass held), woods walks, beach trips, swimming, etc.
Driving licence preferred but not essential.
SEN experience preferred; however, consistency, reliability, and willingness to learn are key.
