SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time and part-time roles available from ASAP We are currently seeking compassionate and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs across schools in Barnet and the surrounding areas. These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who want to make a meaningful difference in inclusive learning environments.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Help pupils engage with the curriculum and develop independence
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND in school or care settings
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
