Summary

37 year old woman looking for a female personal assistant to assist with daily living including personal care. She enjoys crafts, card-making, posing and dressing her re-born dolls, shopping, taking photos, short walks and eating out.

Employer Disability and Health Conditions:
Epilepsy; medication controls any major seizures, assistance would be needed with more 'absent' type seizures (training can be given). Slight speech issues, hypermobility in some joints, IBS.

Hours per week: 12 (2 x 6 hour shifts 10:00 - 16:00). Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.

Applicants must be 25 years of age or over.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting,
showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support with food shopping.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• To be very patient when this lady is talking, not interrupting or trying to finish her
sentences as this will frustrate her and discourage conversation.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You will have a responsibility to report all accidents to the employer immediately.
You will have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident.
You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement:
Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

Required Skills:
• Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
• To be able to follow instructions accurately.
• Be patient, supportive and caring.
• Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgemental emotional
support.
• Be empathetic.
• Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine
interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
• Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employers needs on a daily basis.
• Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
• Have a lively personality.

This lady can be quiet but enjoys being out and socialising, she would benefit from a PA who could encourage this.

Required Training:
Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.
First Aid - PA must already hold relevant qualification.
Epilepsy - Training will be provided by the employer.
