Renal Nursing

Staff Nurse (Band 5)

Are you a newly qualified registered nurse, about to qualify or looking for a change in your nursing career? Would you like to develop skills in renal nursing, caring for patients who have kidney failure? We currently have vacancies on our renal ward and dialysis units.

The Renal Unit at St Georges Hospital has some of the best patients’ outcomes in the UK and we continuously strive to improve and expand our service. We offer excellent exposure to both medical & surgical nursing caring for patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery to facilitate kidney transplantation, dialysis treatment, innovative renal access surgery and nephrology nursing. You will work with experienced renal nurses, clinical nurse specialists and a multi professional team that encourages innovation and clinical excellence and committed to offering high standards of care to patients and their families.

There are opportunities to undertake renal specific education, to rotate between the different areas within the unit, gaining a variety of clinical and managerial experience. A career in renal nursing can help you work towards becoming a clinical nurse specialist or provide you with opportunities to become a multi-skilled nurse.
