Summary

Temporary HR Administrator – People Team

Location: Devonport
Contract: 3 months initially (potential extension)
Hours: Full-time preferred

Are you an experienced HR Administrator or People Team professional looking for your next opportunity in a structured, fast-paced environment?

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused HR Administrator to join our clients People Team based in Devonport, Plymouth, supporting a major marine and defence organisation delivering critical services across UK and Ireland dockyards.

This is an opportunity to contribute to nationally significant programmes within a regulated and professional setting.

About The Role

As part of a busy People function, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance, and employee lifecycle administration.

This position would particularly suit someone with previous HR administration experience who thrives in an environment where accuracy, discretion, and efficiency are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the People Team


  • Processing BPSS packs and supporting security clearance activities


  • Coordinating and supporting new starter onboarding and inductions


  • Preparing, issuing, and maintaining employment contracts and documentation


  • Maintaining accurate and compliant employee records


  • Supporting training administration and compliance tracking


  • Updating and managing HR systems and databases


    Skills & Experience Required

    We are looking for someone who brings:

    • Previous HR or People Team administrative experience (strongly desirable)


    • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail


    • Confidence working with Microsoft Office and HR systems


    • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment


    • A professional, discreet, and team-oriented approach


    • A proactive mindset and the confidence to work independently when needed
