About the role
We're looking for a dynamic administrator to play a key role in delivering a smooth, efficient, and customer‑focused recruitment service.
As part of our busy HR Recruitment and Onboarding Team, you'll be supporting candidates, colleagues, managers, and stakeholders while keeping our processes running seamlessly day‑to‑day.
In this fast‑paced and varied role, you’ll help deliver high‑quality recruitment and onboarding administration, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding customer care. You’ll be a key player in coordinating activities, supporting team members, and ensuring our service remains compliant, effective, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver accurate, timely recruitment and HR administrative processes
- Respond to queries from candidates, staff, and stakeholders professionally and promptly
- Ensure compliance with recruitment policies, procedures, and legislation
- Provide flexible front‑line information, reception, and administrative support
- Produce standard HR documentation and correspondence
- Use multiple systems to input and maintain data accurately
- Prioritise tasks and make informed decisions within your remit
- Work collaboratively across HR and the wider University
For this role, after training, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs. The working pattern for this role can be discussed at interview.
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must hold the legal right to work in the UK.

What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys helping others, and takes pride in doing things well. You’ll have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and the confidence to manage a varied workload while keeping service quality high.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong literacy and numeracy (secondary education level or equivalent experience)
Further education level achievement (or equivalent experience)
Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and databases
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to deliver high‑quality customer service
Experience in:
Working in a customer service and HR environment (preferably in higher education)
Delivering high‑quality office administration
Managing high volumes of admin work and meeting deadlines
Working both independently and as part of a team
