Summary
North Somerset Academy is one of 8 Academies forming the University of Bristol Medical School. This full-time post is for 9 teaching sessions and 1 clinical session (supernumerary) undertaken in a department within the Hospital, of the post holders choosing. Objectives of the Post: To develop competence in teaching and develop teaching skills through studying a Certificate in Medical Education To develop and deliver the MBchB curriculum for Medical Students in years 2,3 or 5. The post holder will be allocated a year group and work closely with the Undergraduate Medical Education team to plan and deliver the units. New course design will require some flexibility. To support the other year undergraduate teaching programmes, including the development of teaching materials and enhancement of learning within the clinical skills lab with the other CTFs. Act as a professional role model and mentor for the student body during their placements. Supervise the generic professional behaviours/skills that are expected of the students - and demonstrate these at all times. Contribute and participate in the assessment process for medical students The post holder should be flexible, professional and co-operative within the evolving needs of the clinical academy. It may be necessary to attend university meetings in Bristol or examine in other academies. You will be expected work 40 hours per week - clinical work limited to set days on all other days teaching takes priority.
