Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a motivated Supervisor to join the “Cold Prep Section” in the Catering department at University Hospitals Dorset.
This is a very demanding job and requires a good level of physical fitness, flexibility, and good organisational skills.
You should be able to work with minimal supervision on your own initiative in this busy location.
Duties include, making sandwiches, salads, baguettes, Panini’s and salad bar preparation. In addition, some general cleaning is required and a possibility of helping on the patient production line.
Due to working in the cold room, cold weather clothing will be provided including:
Boots , socks, thermal garments, snoods and sweatshirts as required.
Base Location: Poole Hospital

• Work flexibly across the Catering Department when required, undertaking duties appropriate to the grade
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment at all times
• Comply with Trust policies, procedures and standard operating instructions
• Ensure strict security of eqpt and premises.
• Involved in the implementation and any updates within the catering dept.
• Ensure wastage levels are kept to a minimum
• You will be expected to have the ability to prioritise the day’s task, show initiative in solving problems as they arise, whilst operating with frequent interruptions.
• To ensure that set standards, procedures, and processes to produce high-quality food are adhered too and comply with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
To supervise and support members of your team.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
