Summary
Job Description?
Looking for a reliable, caring and flexible Personal Assistant to provide practical support with daily living, household tasks and parenting responsibilities. Support will vary depending on health needs, including days affected by fatigue, migraines or neurological symptoms.
Roles and responsibilities for the Employee?
• Provide assistance with shopping, including meal planning and support to reduce impulse buying
• Support with budgeting and money management, including bills, letters and official documents
• Assist with domestic tasks such as cleaning, organising and completing essential household activities, particularly during periods of ill health
• Provide additional support when fatigue, dizziness or neurological symptoms make caregiving/parenting more difficult
• Help ensure the home environment remains safe and suitable for a young child, particularly when I am unwell
• Provide assistance with movement, toileting arrangements and accessing essential items when required
• Temporarily relocate essential personal care items downstairs on days when stairs cannot be managed
• Prepare meals and potentially batch cook a few meals in advance when needed (ie. during particularly bad flare ups when most/all meals would need to be prepared for me), ensuring food is easy to heat and stored close to hand during health flare-ups.
Person Specification? (who are you looking for)
Someone who is reliable, trustworthy and flexible, and comfortable working in a home with a young child. My son is incredibly friendly and sociable, so any experience with young children and/or willingness to interact with him is essential.
Willingness and ability to assist with mobility support and maintaining a safe home environment, with good communication skills but also able to use initiative especially when I am unable to properly communicate. I would prefer someone closer to my age, or someone I am more able to connect with/feel more comfortable with.
Qualifications/Skills/training Required? Not essential, but previous experience would be beneficial due to the nature of my condition and the potential care needs.
Do you have pets?
Dog, medium sized, friendly. Help with walks, letting her out to the garden and feeding may be required if my conditions flare up and movement is limited.
Fish, help may be required to clean the tank and feed the fish if my conditions flare up.
Do you require a driver? This would be preferrable
