Job Title: PMO Lead
Location: London
Reports To: Head of Delivery / PMO Director
Department: Project Management Office
We are a fast‑growing UK technology company delivering innovative digital and engineering solutions to clients across multiple sectors. As we continue to scale, we are strengthening our Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure consistent delivery excellence across all programmes.
We're now looking for an experienced PMO Lead to play a critical role in shaping our delivery frameworks, driving project governance, and supporting our technical teams in delivering high‑impact outcomes.
The Role
As the PMO Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the structure, standards, and processes that underpin successful programme and project delivery. You will work closely with senior leadership, technical project managers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure transparency, quality, and continuous improvement across our delivery portfolio.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing governance with pragmatism, and who can operate effectively within a dynamic and innovative technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the PMO function to support a portfolio of technical and digital programmes.
- Define, implement, and maintain project delivery frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
- Oversee governance activities, including RAID management, reporting cycles, stage gates, and portfolio dashboards.
- Partner with programme managers and engineering leads to ensure accurate forecasting, resourcing, and budget management.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to project managers and delivery teams.
- Track and report portfolio health, highlighting risks, dependencies, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the delivery lifecycle.
- Drive consistency, quality, and transparency across all delivery practices.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience leading a PMO function within a technical, engineering, or digital organisation.
- Understands agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery methodologies, and knows when to apply each.
- Has strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Is comfortable working at pace and adapting to change in a technical setting.
- Has experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement.
