What we need from you
  • At least 6 months of UK-based experience working in a residential children’s home (within the last 2 years)
  • Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, autism, learning disabilities, or mental health needs
  • Current PVG for working with children (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Trauma-informed, person-centred approach and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • A passion for helping young people thrive, and a commitment to learning and development
  • Restraint/breakaway training (e.g., Level 3/4) is highly desirable – or willingness to complete it via our in-house training
What you’ll be doing
  • Providing 1:1 emotional and practical support to children and young people in residential care
  • Supporting them to build independence, emotional regulation, and resilience
  • Following individual support plans, promoting positive behaviour, and managing risk
  • Encouraging engagement in routines and community activities
  • Working closely with families and professionals under GIRFEC and SHANARRI principles
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring the highest safeguarding standards

  • Only candidates with recent residential childcare experience will be considered
  • We do not offer visa sponsorship – you must have the right to work in the UK
  • Overseas experience cannot be considered – UK-based experience is essential
  • Pay rates vary by shift type – bank holiday rates reflect the upper end
