We are seeking an Officer to join our Traffic & Road Safety Team,supportingcasualty reduction and network improvements across the county.

What we do:

  • Reduce road casualties through the annual Traffic & Road Safety Programme, including:
  • Activeand sustainable travel projects
  • Traffic and safety improvements
  • Speed management schemes
  • Renew and maintain traffic signs and road markings
  • Investigate andrespondto public enquiries about traffic and road safety

About the Role

Supportinga Senior Officer in delivering traffic and road safety services across the Oxford City district. Key duties include:

  • Inspecting and maintaining the signs and lines network
  • Preparing work details and overseeing contractors
  • Responding to enquiries and coordinating with councillors and the public
  • Assisting with programme delivery for projects like crossings, speed limits, and signage

The role is based at County Hall, Oxford, with flexible and agile working options. Site visits for inspections and project supervision are required.

  • Self-motivated, able to workindependentlyand as part of a team
  • Willing to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Diplomatic and able to engage positively with the public and officials
