The RoleThis is a rare opportunity for a dedicated Psychology Specialist to join a high-performing faculty on a part-time basis (3 days in a week). Specifically targeting Key Stage 5, the successful candidate will lead A-Level students through the complexities of the AQA or OCR specifications (as applicable). You will be responsible for fostering a deep analytical culture, preparing students for the rigors of university-level study while providing the pastoral support necessary for Year 12 and 13 transitions.

Requirements- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong knowledge of A-Level specifications (AQA/OCR/Edexcel).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Subject Mastery: An expert-level understanding of core psychological domains.
- Communication: The ability to explain abstract concepts with clarity and wit.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in tracking student metrics to inform teaching strategy.
- Empathy: A high degree of emotional intelligence to support Sixth Form mental health.
- Adaptability: Tailoring delivery styles to suit diverse learning needs.
- Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to question sources and methodology.
- Deliver high-quality A-Level lessons that challenge and inspire KS5 learners.
- Plan and resource schemes of work that cater to a wide range of academic abilities.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide detailed, constructive feedback to drive progress.
- Monitor student data to identify under performance and implement effective interventions.
- Prepare students for external examinations, including technique workshops and mock grading.
- Collaborate with the Social Science department to share best practices and resources.
- Maintain an inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and critical thinking.
- Engage with parents and guardians through reports and consultation evenings.
- Stay updated on psychological research to ensure curriculum content remains contemporary.
- Contribute to the UCAS process, providing references and guidance for aspiring Psychology undergraduates.
