Summary

Shoe Operative (Closing room)

Location: Northampton, NN2

Salary: £14.00 per hour

Working hours: 39 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and dependable individual to join our Closing Room Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled in all aspects of stitching and fitting shoe uppers using a sewing machine.
  • Meet quality and production targets, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Prioritise tasks to support production needs and adapt to changes (e.g., urgent orders, machine or material issues).
  • Communicate production or quality concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Ensure machinery is well maintained and report any issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a shoe production or similar stitching/machinist role is essential.
  • Fully competent in the use of industrial sewing machines.
  • High attention to detail and consistently high standards of workmanship.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and calmness under pressure.
  • Willingness to train others.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality with company and personal information.
