Thinking about a career in teaching? Start where it really matters.
Are you a graduate with a strong academic background who enjoys explaining ideas, debating topics, and helping young people “get it”?
Do you want real classroom experience before committing to teacher training?
Are you confident, warm, and able to build positive relationships with teenagers?
This could be your perfect first step into education.
About The Role:
We’re recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a supportive secondary school across Hertfordshire. This role offers invaluable experience supporting students aged 11–16 while learning directly from experienced teachers.
You’ll be:
• Supporting students in lessons and small intervention groups
• Helping students understand challenging concepts and build confidence
• Working across different subjects (with opportunities to support your degree specialism)
• Managing different classroom environments and adapting quickly
• Encouraging engagement, motivation, and positive behaviour
• Making learning accessible, engaging, and even fun
• No two days are the same — and every day makes an impact.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• A graduate with a strong academic background
• Passionate about education and supporting young people
• Confident, friendly, and professional — able to connect with teenagers
• Adaptable, resilient, and calm under pressure
• Keen to learn, develop, and progress into teacher training
• Open to mentoring, feedback, and continuous development
You don’t need previous school experience — just the right mindset, enthusiasm, and commitment.
Why Choose This Role?
• Excellent training and mentoring throughout the year
• Hands-on secondary classroom experience
• A clear pathway into PGCE or School Direct routes
• Insight into behaviour management, lesson delivery, and pastoral support
• A chance to decide if teaching is truly right for you
Ready to Inspire the Next Generation?
If you’re academically strong, people-focused, and excited about shaping young minds, we want to hear from you.
Your teaching career doesn’t start with a PGCE — it starts here.
