Job Title: Grounds Semi-Skilled Driver (SC4)
Job Category: Manual Labour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm
Contract: Temporary (may be extended; additional work may be required during summer periods)

Role Purpose

To support the maintenance and cleanliness of parks and public open spaces by carrying out litter collection, waste removal, and general grounds duties. The role involves driving between sites, working as part of a team, and ensuring work activities are completed safely and efficiently while maintaining high environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out litter rounds across parks and public spaces.

Collect and dispose of parks waste in line with procedures.

Empty and change public litter bins as required.

Undertake litter picking and general grounds maintenance duties.

Work collaboratively as part of a team to complete daily tasks.

Use a work mobile/PSS system to report completed sites and log issues.

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of designated areas.

Follow health and safety guidelines and safe working practices at all times.

Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required.

Essential Requirements

Experience in manual outdoor work or grounds maintenance (desirable but not essential if willing to learn).

Ability to carry out physical tasks including walking, lifting, and working outdoors in all weather.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Basic IT skills to use a work phone/PSS reporting system.

Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload across multiple sites.

Full UK driving licence (if driving is required as part of the role).

Must have 2 years reference.
