About The Barn

At The Barn Forest School, our purpose is simple but powerful: to make a positive difference to children’s lives.

We create nurturing, inspiring environments where children feel safe, valued and curious about the world around them. Rooted in outdoor learning and play-based practice, our Forest School ethos encourages children to explore, get messy, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We’re proud of the warm, family-like culture we’ve built — a place where staff feel respected, supported and genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Due to growing numbers of “Little Barnies”, we’re looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team.

The Role:

As an Early Years Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing in line with the EYFS.

You will:

- Work collaboratively with the team to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
- Support children’s learning through play, exploration and outdoor experiences
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and families
- Observe, assess and contribute to records of children’s learning and development
- Follow all safeguarding procedures, policies and best practice
- Have a genuine love of stories and books, and enjoy sharing favourites with little listeners – curled up indoors or outside under the trees.

What We’re Looking For:

We’d love to hear from you if you:

- Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
- Have experience working with children in a nursery or similar early years setting
- Have a good understanding of child development and the EYFS
- Are warm, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about early childhood education
- Enjoy working outdoors and value play-based learning
- Can work well as part of a team while also using your own initiative
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Hours & Pay:

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Hours: Working between 7:00am – 6:00pm
Days and hours can be discussed

What We Offer:

- A welcoming, supportive team where you’ll genuinely feel part of the family
- Supportive leadership that truly values you, your wellbeing and your voice
- - Ongoing learning and development opportunities to help you grow in your role and your career
- A company pension scheme to support your future
- No uniform required – comfortable, practical, casual dress is absolutely fine
- Regular company events, bringing educators together from all four of our nurseries to connect, celebrate and have fun
- A chance to make a real difference to children’s lives every single day
- A workplace built on respect, kindness and trust
- A unique Forest School environment with beautiful outdoor spaces that children (and adults!) love

Safeguarding & Compliance:

The Barn Forest School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
All appointments are subject to:

An enhanced DBS check
Satisfactory references
Right to work in the UK

We look forward to hearing from you!
