Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant psychologist with an interest in professional development in the field of parent-infant mental health to join our Stockport and Oldham Parent Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS). As an assistant psychologist you will be integral to the delivery of a high-quality parent infant mental health service across the borough. You will be joining an experienced, skilled and highly committed team.

You will receive line management supervision and clinical supervision from the clinical lead for PIMHS .

You will be supporting with the delivery of a clinical service to babies and families through developing and assisting with group work, developing resources (digital and hard copies), and supporting clinicians with their clinical work. There will be opportunities for undertaking some low level clinical work under closely monitored supervision within the level of your own competence.

The role includes supporting the delivery of the Best Start for Life programme for local babies and their parents and carers in Oldham. This involve promoting awareness of the importance of parent infant mental health by providing support with coordinating workforce training, and contributing to our social media presence and digital offer.

The role will also involve contributing to the evaluation of service activity and delivery for BSFL across Oldham by collecting, analysing and summarising data for reporting and clinical purposes.

The postholder will be a member of both the Stockport and Oldham PIMHS, a multi- disciplinary parent-infant mental health (PIMH) service for under 2s. We provide a clinical service, training, consultation, and supervision across the large multi-agency network of professionals. We have good links with Health Visiting, Maternity Services, Children’s Centres, Adult Mental Health, Voluntary sector, Children’s Social Care and Early Help.
The team has regular face-to-face team meetings, individual supervisions and line management. There are regular opportunities for support and CPD.
