A highly regarded post-16 school setting in Southwark is looking to appoint a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant to support its growing Maths, Science and Technology departments. This role is ideal for graduates in Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering or Computing who want meaningful classroom experience, with the option to train as a qualified teacher from September 2026.

The role

You’ll work alongside specialist teachers delivering a broad and ambitious STEM curriculum, including A-level and applied pathways in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computing. The curriculum is designed to stretch high-achieving students while also supporting those who need confidence-building and targeted academic intervention.

Your role will involve:

• Supporting lessons across STEM subjects
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions to address gaps in learning
• Helping students master complex concepts and exam technique
• Supporting learners with additional needs through adaptive strategies
• Acting as a positive academic role model for students aiming for university, apprenticeships or STEM careers
