Description
The Community Housing Triage Officer (Gr E) plays a vital role in the effective delivery of housing services within our community. This position focuses on the initial assessment and management of housing-related inquiries from residents facing various levels of housing challenges. As a dedicated professional, you will engage with individuals to understand their circumstances and provide timely support, ensuring that services are aligned with our organizational goals and community needs. You will be responsible for assessing eligibility for housing assistance programs, conducting comprehensive needs assessments, and connecting clients with appropriate services and resources. The role requires a deep understanding of community housing systems, compliance regulations, and a commitment to advocating for the housing rights of individuals and families. As the first point of contact for housing support, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including social services, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, to coordinate interventions. Your compassion, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure will be essential as you navigate complex situations to help individuals secure stable housing. Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessments of housing inquiries and determine urgency of needs.
Collaborate with clients to develop personalized housing action plans based on individual circumstances.
Facilitate access to housing resources and support services available within the community.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case progress in compliance with privacy regulations.
Act as a liaison between clients and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support is received.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and services provided to clients.
Provide education and information on tenants' rights, housing programs, and community resources.,
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, public policy, or a related field.
Minimum two years of experience in housing services, social services, or community outreach.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
Demonstrated understanding of local housing policies, regulations, and economic factors affecting housing accessibility.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle high-stress situations effectively.
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to social justice and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
