Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer at the Gr F/G/H/I level to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in promoting public health and environmental safety by enforcing laws and regulations related to environmental health. You will conduct assessments and inspections in various settings including residential, commercial, and public facilities to ensure compliance with health standards. This position is essential in addressing and mitigating environmental health risks, contributing to the overall well-being of the community. You will work closely with other government agencies, stakeholders, and community organizations to develop and implement strategies that improve environmental quality and public health outcomes. Your expertise will also be necessary for educating the public about best practices in environmental health and safety. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to inform decision-making. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough environmental health inspections and assessments in various locations.
Enforce environmental health regulations and ensure compliance with health codes.
Investigate complaints and reports of environmental health concerns from the public.
Analyze data and prepare detailed reports on environmental health issues and trends.
Collaborate with other departments and community agencies to address public health challenges.
Provide education and outreach programs to the community on environmental health topics.
Participate in developing policies and programs aimed at improving environmental health standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
Certification or licensure as an Environmental Health Officer is preferred.
Knowledge of environmental health laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess health risks.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, for effective public interaction.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in conducting inspections, investigations, and community outreach activities.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £31.91
