Our School Aims

At our school, we are committed to:

  • Promoting the values of respect, resilience, responsibility, equality and challenge.
  • The safeguarding and well-being of all children and adults.
  • Creating independent lifelong learners who embrace challenge and demonstrate resilience.
  • Actively seeking purposeful collaborations to nurture a sense of belonging and experience the richness of the local and wider community.
  • Offering rich and purposeful learning opportunities to enable every child to be responsible and successful local and global citizens.
  • We value the partnerships that exist between the school, parents, governors, and the community, and the part they all play in realising our aims.
What is the job role?

You will need to be able to deliver a high-quality maintenance service in a busy school environment. Due to the nature of the tasks required from this role, a good level of physical fitness will be required.

A good working knowledge of Health & Safety, previous experience in delivering quality 'handyman' tasks and experience with dealing with janitorial issues, both routine and reactive in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation, are necessary.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to recruit an efficient and highly organised individual to manage our school premises and grounds.

The successful candidate should have:

  • a good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and its application.
  • knowledge of janitorial/security duties and an ability to deliver a skilful handyman service.
  • the ability to communicate well with all levels of staff/pupils/parents, and visitors to the school.
  • The ability to follow agreed regulations and procedures relating to the duties of the role
  • A friendly and approachable nature, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

We can offer:

  • A good school where ‘positive and caring relationships have created an environment where pupils feel safe and are safe’.
  • Children who are ‘exceptionally’ well behaved.
  • Friendly and supportive staff.
  • A wonderful environment ‘at the heart of the local community’.
  • A supportive leadership team and strong Governing Body.
  • Free childcare for pupils enrolled at Earlsdon Primary School during working hours.
  • Flexible hours depending on candidate.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role

Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under-represented; we encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply.  This does not prevent individuals with or without other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre-employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
