Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee all HR operations at Hayato London, a Japanese hair salon group operating in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing HR policies, procedures, and systems to support the company’s strategic goals and ensure legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment law and company standards.
Lead full-cycle recruitment processes for stylists, assistants, receptionists, and management staff, including posting adverts, shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding.
Manage staff records, contracts, and work eligibility documents.
Provide HR support and guidance to salon managers and directors on employee relations, performance management, grievance, and disciplinary matters.
Oversee employee development, training coordination, and internal career progression frameworks.
Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and salon licensing requirements.
Manage the payroll interface by ensuring accurate data transmission and coordination with external payroll/accounting providers.
Support the expansion and setup of new salon branches by ensuring recruitment targets are met and team structures are in place.
Lead annual performance review processes and succession planning.
Monitor employee well-being, working conditions, and engagement initiatives.
Report directly to the company director and collaborate with the management team on strategic planning.

Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR management, preferably in a hair or service industry environment.
In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office.
Japanese language ability is required to communicate with Japanese staff and maintain the Japanese-style service standards within the UK salons.
