Summary
To work under the direction of the Assistant Category Director General, to scope new markets to support NHS Trusts and the wider public sector with the delivery of the Fit for the Future 10 Year Health Plan for England (and/or any successive NHSE/DHSC long term strategies for the NHS). To engage with relevant SMEs across member Trusts, non-member Trusts, NHSE, DHSC, suppliers and NHS procurement hubs and affiliates to develop and maintain a workplan for creating procurement solutions for different high priority and emerging markets. To deliver the end-to-end procurement process of new routes to market (plan, procure, define and manage) including NHSE accreditation/endorsement, CO spend controls, PME, requirements gathering, complaint tendering, successful award and ongoing management. To be responsible for programme management of the tendering process from initial scoping to contract award in accordance with EU procurement directives, UK legislation, and local Trust SOs and SFIs and governance procedures. To ensure all procurement activities operate in full accordance with legal, environmental and sustainability requirements. To identify and manage risk throughout the procurement process.
