Job Description: We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee picking operations within your assigned area, ensuring safety standards and performance targets are consistently met in line with company expectations.
- Lead and support a team of approximately 20 warehouse operatives.
- Engage proactively with pickers and warehouse staff to promote best practice and maintain operational excellence.
- Work with shift supervisors to address and resolve any system or facility issues that may impact pick rates, ensuring timely corrective action.
- Ensure all warehouse operatives follow company procedures relating to safety and picking activities.
- Use warehouse management systems to accurately receive, locate, pick and dispatch goods, ensuring all items are handled with care.
- Monitor completed picks to ensure best practice in caging, consolidation and load security, maximising load fill while preventing product damage (e.g., avoiding heavy items being placed on lighter ones and preventing over‑height or overweight cages).
- Replenish stock and consolidate inventory as required to maintain efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment and ensure all equipment is kept in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working within a warehouse or transport environment is essential.
- Familiarity with IT systems, including warehouse management software, is desirable.
- Ability to lead change effectively, engage team members, and communicate clearly.
- Strong capability to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading a team remotely is advantageous.
- Essential customer service experience, both via telephone and email.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
