As the Senior HSE Specialist, you'll shape and influence how CDM and auditing are delivered across Capita Public Services (CPS). Reporting to the Director of HSE, you'll work at the heart of the organisation-partnering with Directors, Managers, and key stakeholders-to drive high standards, strengthen compliance, and provide critical assurance across the division and the UK.
If you're passionate about making an impact and leading real improvements in risk control and CDM application, this is an exciting opportunity to do just that.
This is a fixed‑term contract for 12 months.
What you'll be doing:
• Act as executive advisor on all CDM related projects and accounts.

• Collaborate with functions and operations, as required, related to CDM/Auditing, specifically related to HSE risk and controls.
• Responsible for supporting, monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the CDM recommendations across CPS and the UK as established following the CDM audit in DPS.
• Responsible for supporting, monitoring and reporting that all HSE related corporate legal and statutory compliance requirements are met for CPS and functions related to CDM.
• Develop reporting and audit tools related to the evaluation of compliance, specific to CDM and the management and reporting of risk control.
• Responsible for the CPS approach to the management of CDM and potential growth of projects in this area.
• Advise HSE Leads across CPS and the UK where CDM is required.
What we're looking for:
(Essential)
• Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ or Degree Qualified
• Demonstrable experience of successful CDM application and management in a complex organisation, which includes the construction environment
• A track record of building health and safety management systems and their risk control systems in senior HSE manager or advisor roles
• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of H&S legislative and statutory requirements.
