Summary
Overview
We are supporting a well-established organisation within the education and public services sector to recruit an HR Policy Manager on a 12‑month fixed-term basis on a part-time, 4 days a week basis. This part-time role focusses on shaping a proactive employee relations approach, ensuring compliance across policies and processes, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and resolution‑focused work environment.
The successful candidate will lead policy development, manage complex employee relations casework, and support the development of advisers and managers across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the development, review and implementation of people policies and procedures.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex and sensitive employee relations cases.
- Support managers and advisers in applying consistent, legally compliant approaches to people management.
- Contribute to the organisation's strategy for early conflict resolution and positive working relationships.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Analyse employee relations trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver workshops and awareness sessions on respectful conduct and inclusive practices.
- Support project work linked to policy, compliance or employee wellbeing.
Person Specification
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience.
- Significant background in employee relations, including complex case handling.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practice.
- Experience developing and implementing people policies.
- Ability to coach and influence managers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work confidently with sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands.
