Summary
The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest in providing excellent nursing care to people living with epilepsy. They will be willing to undertake additional training to enhance their knowledge on Epilepsy for example NICE guidance and quality standards, treatment options and challenges. The candidate will provide a range of nursing care activities with patients including: Assessment and review of epilepsy, Monitoring of seizure activity and treatment side effects, Advising on seizure management, Care planning including treatment options and prescribing (additional training can be provided). Educating patients and carers about epilepsy, Risk management assessment and advice Deliver epilepsy awareness and rescue medication training to patients and carers. The successful candidate will be required to manage a caseload of patients with uncontrolled epilepsy, working independently and as part of the wider nursing team. Some travel will be involved across the locality involving rural areas. Clinics operate over the CDDFT area and within clinic environments in hospitals, patient's own homes, GP practices and HMP establishments.
