Summary

English Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible

Duties as English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across appropriate year groups
  • Support pupils in developing strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Assess pupil understanding within lessons and provide clear feedback
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and positive classroom routines
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative approaches
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils of varied abilities
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Dedication to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
