The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality beverages, efficient staff performance, and strong financial results. This role combines leadership, creativity, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise bartenders and bar staff
Ensure exceptional guest experience and handle customer concerns professionally
Develop drink menus, cocktails, and promotions in line with brand standards
Monitor inventory, place orders, and control costs and waste
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol licensing regulations
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the bar
Track sales, prepare reports, and meet revenue targets
Coordinate with kitchen and management teams for smooth service
Enforce responsible alcohol service policies
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bar Manager, Head Bartender, or similar role
Strong leadership and team-management skills
Excellent knowledge of beverages, cocktails, and bar equipment
Customer-focused with strong communication skills
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of local alcohol laws and safety regulations
