Summary

We are recruiting to a 12‑month fixed‑term post (maternity cover) within the Choices Learning Disability Partnership (CLDP) team. CLDP is a forensic service working with adults and older adults with learning disabilities in the community. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and delivering Speech and Language Therapy interventions within the community learning disability pathway, as well as providing support and guidance to accommodation and care providers working with individuals on the caseload. The caseload is primarily focused on communication, with a small proportion of dysphagia work. The post is open to SLTs without dysphagia competencies, as this element of the service can be supported by other SLTs in the team. The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside a range of mental health professionals. They will receive regular professional supervision, join the wider SLT team within the forensic pathway, and have opportunities for support, liaison, and CPD through the network of SLTs working across forensic services in East, North, and West London.

Please note that whilst dysphagia competencies are desirable they are not essential. The candidate should have experience of working with adults with intellectual disability.
