IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Purchasing Lead. This hands-on role combines strategic procurement with day-to-day operational responsibility, ideal for someone looking to make a real impact across supply chain performance, cost control, and service delivery.
Key DutiesVendor & Supplier Management

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including on-site and off-site visits.

Develop and deliver supply chain initiatives and strategic improvements.

Issue supply forecasts and monitor KPIs and supplier performance.

Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
-
Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers on an ongoing basis.
Purchasing & MRP
-
Oversee the purchasing and MRP process.
-
Raise purchase orders for stock and ad-hoc requirements.

Ensure process compliance and continuous improvement against KPIs.

Liaise with Finance to ensure accurate PO matching.
-
Maintain data integrity within the ERP system.
Inventory Management
-
Manage inventory levels to maintain service and reduce dead stock.

Identify supply constraints and implement contingency plans.

Support bi-annual stock takes alongside the Warehouse team.

Monitor inventory value against budget and performance indicators.
Leadership
-
Lead, develop, and support the purchasing/supply chain team.

Conduct annual performance reviews.
-
Promote best practice and continuous improvement.

Proven experience developing and managing procurement or supply chain strategies.

Experience purchasing from and managing global suppliers.
-
Leadership or team management experience.
-
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
-
Proactive, team-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
-
Competent with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
-
