What does the role generally require and include:

- Learning from and assisting the marketing and business administration teams with the general running of day to day issues within the business
- Applicants must have excellent IT skills and good general knowledge of all software programs and spreadsheets
- Our business uses a range of software so the successful candidate must be computer literate. We use Microsoft Excel for most tasks so a strong knowledge of this software is essential. Excel knowledge must include cell formatting, formulas and filter use as basic. More advanced Excel knowledge is an advantage for this role.

Our company

Joyners Plants Ltd is a leading regional retailer and grower of garden plants and horticultural products at four large garden centre stores located at Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Yeovil. We employ between 85 to 125 employees when at peak trading. Established since 1959 our company operates profit share schemes and bonus schemes by invitation for employee’s. The company plans to continue to expand and so we are recruiting for new full time positions.

Role specifics – Full in-house training provided:

* Assisting with the production of point-of-sale material for our four garden centres
* Assisting the marketing manager with a range of responses to daily marketing issues including updating our Epos system
* Supporting the marketing manager with content updates for our website
* Production of spreadsheet information on a range of issues both with marketing and general business management
* Focus on the buying and organising of sundries required by our maintenance and transport teams and organising emergency responses to daily issues
* Regular reporting across a range of topics
* Creation and management of excel spreadsheets including formulas
* Data collection, entry and analysis
* Negotiation and purchasing of a wide range of products
* Sundries purchasing
* Customer service- direct with customer email enquires
* Other roles to assist with holiday cover

Skills required for this role are:

Exceptional attention to detail
* Highly organised
* Good understanding of excel including writing basic formulas eg ‘A3=A1+A2’
* Ability to use mental maths to check sums and ensure they seem correct
* Good levels of English – both spoken and written
* Ability to work within a team
* Ability to time manage and prioritise
* Good understanding of IT Systems and Software

Desirable:

* Experience in Marketing
* Experience in Business Administration
* Employment Specifics:

The role would require applicants to work Monday to Friday
Occasional shop floor support requested at key trading periods throughout the year – flexibility to help is an advantage
We can offer £15.00 to £16.00 per hour with flexibility to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week – exact working hours to be agreed
Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked – approx. 28 days
The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team
