Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Science Teacher who is ready to make that next step in their career and join our dynamic leadership team here at Outwood Academy Hindley as Second in Science. The Science Department is a large and thriving department, where our team of specialist teachers deliver high quality lessons in specialist labs, all contained within a purpose-built building and supported by our highly experienced team of technicians. The science curriculum is exceptionally well resourced with access to the most up to date classroom technologies to support the delivery of high quality teaching and learning that can enthuse and inspire future scientists.
As Principal of Outwood Academy Hindley, I am excited to introduce you to our school which was recently judged to be 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted. The report recognised our 'culture of care' and the welcoming environment that you would be joining if you were a member of staff here. There was also recognition of the 'strong emphasis on staff development'; if you are passionate about education and improving your practice, you are guaranteed to be given excellent CPD opportunities.
We are looking to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner and Second in Science who has high aspirations for our students. You will have excellent subject knowledge, a passion for Science, and want students to love Science as much as we do. As a member of the Outwood Family you will share our vision of ‘Students First’ and be able to work collaboratively with our outstanding head of subject and senior leaders. You will also be supported on your journey by our Directors of Science. We are totally committed to providing the best possible education for every child, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated department, play a vital role in shaping our students' educational journeys, and foster their long-term success.
What the school offers its staff

OGAT colleagues benefit from the work of the institute, which draws on the expertise of some of the most outstanding school leaders in education today.
We offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits including a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.
