Group SHEQ ManagerSalary: £60,000 - £65,000 + benefitsLocation: DerbyContract: Permanent Lead Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement for a Growing Manufacturing BusinessA well-established manufacturing organisation is seeking a Group SHEQ Manager to lead its Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Compliance functions across multiple sites. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and offers the opportunity to drive genuine transformation, embed best practice, and influence the long-term quality strategy of the business.You will lead a small multi-site team, ensuring systems, processes and behaviours support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and ongoing compliance with relevant standards. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership environment and enjoys shaping culture, processes, and performance.The Role: What You’ll Be Responsible ForQuality, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementFull responsibility for the company’s QMS, ensuring compliance with customer, industry and regulatory requirementsOwnership of ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards across both sitesDevelop and implement quality procedures, specifications and standardsEnsure ongoing compliance to customer requirements using sound judgement and proactive oversightLead short, medium and long-term quality improvement strategiesEmbed a zero-defect mentality within production and operationsDrive waste reduction and efficiency improvements across processesEstablish and review quality KPIs, providing data-driven reports to the boardLead the rollout of right-first-time initiatives across the businessUse appropriate quality tools and ensure teams understand how to apply themLead on quality-focused training, coaching and staff developmentManage, mentor and develop the quality teamHealth, Safety & Environmental LeadershipOversee Health & Safety compliance across both sitesEnsure company policies and procedures are followed and continuously improvedSupport group-level compliance, sustainability and reporting initiativesCustomer, Supplier & Internal CollaborationAct as a senior contact for strategic customersTranslate customer requirements into clear actions for Quality and OperationsLead supply chain auditing and ongoing supplier performance improvementWork closely with Operations, Technical and Customer Service teams to deliver effective solutionsSkills, Experience & QualificationsEssentialStrong experience managing ISO9001 and ISO14001Senior-level experience within manufacturing, ideally across multiple sitesProven track record in quality management, compliance and process improvementExperience with quality tools, auditing and continuous improvement initiativesMinimum 3 years’ leadership or people-management experienceExperience designing and implementing efficient processesStrong coaching and change-management capabilityQuality Management or H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH)DesirableDegree-qualified or equivalentExperience within engineering or industrial manufacturingSkills & Personal AttributesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and presentation abilitiesHigh attention to detail with strong organisational skillsSelf-motivated, confident and proactivePositive, hands-on, and able to work effectively under pressureStrong team player with the ability to drive change and influence stakeholders
